I am a painter and video artist living and working in Atlanta. I got into painting first in 2015 and then seriously in 2017. I was first inspired by my mom’s phase of ‘paint and sip’ experiences and the work she would bring home. I had always been a creative kid but as a teenager in constant emotional turmoil, the exploration of expressing myself was monumental.
I studied business in college. I didn’t like people telling me what to do and it provided a gateway to me of turning my passion into a career. Over the course of my studies, I independently curated and sold out group shows, launched an art magazine and podcast, and did community work to uplift artists around me.
As I graduated and accepted my first full time job, I struggled balancing work with passions, as well as the challenge of becoming an adult. After a few more projects, I realized I was being called back to what I always wanted to do- create. At my cubicle, I taught myself a new and developing medium- AI. I taught myself everything I could. I watched Youtube videos in my car on my breaks, scoured Discord and Twitter for all the information I could get, I even learned enough Python to start tweaking the codes.
I learned how to integrate my two mediums- traditional art and computer vision. I started creating immersive experiences all around Atlanta with the goal of transforming the typical white wall gallery experience into something more magical and accessible to more people. I wanted to create an experience where everyone could interact with and enjoy art- above the barrier of egos and traditional art education.
Here, I explore what it means to be an artist in the environment of today’s society.
A Little About Me
When I am not making art, I enjoy traveling as far as I can go, cooking, eating, going outside, attending concerts and festivals, playing video games (RDR2 is my current fave), working out, looking out the window, and enjoying all life has to offer and explore.
Thank you for joining me on my journey. My upcoming plans include diving into the online space to encourage and inspire others to take up their own path and live their most creative life.
